Elevated House With Country Views

What: A Sloping Garden With Improved Access

Where: Longdon

When: January 2012

The client had recently had a big extension on the back of the house leaving a 3.5 metre drop to a large garden sloping away from the house.

Client brief - to retain the steep drop and thus improve access to the garden.  The clients are very keen gardeners.

This was certainly a very challenging brief, but one that gave the opportunity for some very creative ideas and construction techniques.

G-Scapes built a series of steps and dry-stone retaining walls.  These were supported behind with concrete block walls reinforced by steel mesh for increased strength and stability.

The natural slope proved to be an ideal location for an impressive water feature.  G-Scapes constructed a stunning stream with a series of cascading waterfalls, flowing into a large pool.

Half way down the slope, a circular sitting area was built to give wonderful views down the garden and across the valley beyond.

All the lovely planting was done using plants from our own Fullbrook Nursery.

"We are extremely pleased with all the staff of G Scapes, we found all of them both professional and friendly throughout the whole contract and found their attention to detail exceptional. We are particularly happy with the dry stone walling and features introduced i.e. fish pond and the colourful shrubs and hedging. We would strongly recommend G Scapes to everybody"
